The question has been asked why our prices aren't as low as on some other sites. A quick look around the Internet for 9mm ammo brings up prices at around $235 - $250 per 1,000 rounds. That's $11.75 - $12.50 per 50 round box.
Good question. I've wondered that myself. Refresh my memory, Wasn't it just two years ago when there was NO 9mm ammunition available anywhere. At any price. And not just 9mm. No ammo.
NONE.
NADA.
Zilch.
What happened.
It was a perfect storm and now it is almost over. The ammunition companies, here and around the world, are catching up. The raw products necessary for manufacturing ammo have become much more available. And people are not snatching up every single box they see.
It seems that the 9mm Luger or Parabellum is made in huge quantities. Those companies have the economies of scale working for them, For example: I would suppose that most of you reading this, and surely the one person typing this, enjoy an occasional (cough, cough) adult beverage from time to time.
Let's talk about the national favorite - beer and ale. Overall U.S. beer consumption per adult age 21 and over is around 28.2 gallons per person, per year. Breaking these numbers down further, the average adult over the age of 21 is consuming about 10 ounces of per day, or roughly one six pack per week. Obviously, they do not know my circle of friends. And perhaps yours?
Anheuser-Busch produces around 100 million barrels of beer worldwide each year. That’s equal to about 320 million U. S. gallons. If we divide that by 365 days in a year, the total barrels produced by Anheuser-Busch per day would be roughly 273,403 barrels.
Compare the daily production to that of your favorite micro-brewery. How many months or years would it take them to equal Anheiser-Busch's production for 1 day.
So what does the micro-brewery offer? Local produced beers and ales and perhaps even locally sourced hops and grains. The personal touch when you visit. Varying products to meet the customer's needs or wants. Flavors that resonate with the patrons. That's why you will pay $6 - $10 for a glass or snifter of their finest ale instead of $1.75 a bottle.
